# 技術援助で、インドネシアの養魚法が、ハイチ島やタイ国でも利用される。 (With technical assistance, Indonesia's fish-culture method is also used in Haiti and Thailand) (Japanese poster distributed in Asia, U.N. Day Poster #5)

A Japanese-language photo poster headed with a claim that technical assistance carries Indonesia's fish-farming method to Haiti and Thailand. A photograph shows a man in a cap lifting a large carp from shallow water into a basket while a boy holds a net pole. The text says protein shortage is a main nutrition problem in many underdeveloped countries and that Indonesian farmers' pond-and-paddy fish culture is now taught abroad by Indonesian specialists. The tell is plain-folks: named farmers' practice presented as the model of aid.

With technical assistance, Indonesia's fish-culture method is also used on Haiti and in Thailand.

In many underdeveloped countries the biggest nutrition problem is a shortage of protein. In Indonesia farmers solved this problem hundreds of years ago by the 'fish-culture method'. Because ponds and paddies were used for hatching and raising fish, it became possible to take twice as much fish as the rice taken from the paddy; today Indonesian specialists are teaching this technique to other countries.
