# Não deixemos o Eixo meter as garras nas Américas [Let us not let the Axis sink its claws into the Americas]

A pale clawing hand, its cuff banded with a swastika on a rising-sun flag, reaches over a globe and is pierced in the palm by a rifle bayonet, a drop of blood falling. The Portuguese slogan casts the Axis as a predator ('claws') and the image supplies the threat (fear appeal) and the animal-hand label for the enemy (name-calling).
