# U.S. Position on Viet-Nam poster, PPB-331 (English, Manila)

A five-panel folded English sheet headed 'The United States Position on Viet-Nam', marked 'Please post on bulletin board'. Photographs show a U.S. soldier in a beret, villagers amid ruins and a grave, an officer examining captured weapons, missiles, and Marines landing on a beach, with a quotation from President Johnson of 25 March 1965. The tell is card-stacking: chosen images present the U.S. role as a response to a request for help and to concealed aggression.

The United States Position on VIET-NAM

PLEASE POST ON BULLETIN BOARD

Communist North Viet-Nam has flagrantly violated the 1954 and 1962 Geneva agreements by launching a large-scale, concealed war against South Viet-Nam.

CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE of aggression: captured weapons bearing communist trademark, terrorism and sabotage against civilian population.

At the official request of South Viet-Nam, the United States and other freedom-loving nations of the world have supported the Vietnamese in a concerted struggle to defend life, property and human liberty.

On March 25, 1965 President Lyndon B. Johnson said: "It is and it will remain the policy of the United States to furnish assistance to support South Viet-Nam for as long as is required to bring Communist aggression and terrorism under control."

BATTLE-READY U.S. Marines arrive in South Viet-Nam in response to the call for help.
