# Chiến thắng tại Thừa Thiên (Win in Thưa Thiên)

A Vietnamese-language photo sheet (code SP-1063) reports an ambush at Hoa My in Thua Thien province on 17 March 1966, in which a Republic of Vietnam company is said to have routed a Viet Cong company, losing 5 lightly wounded against 53 enemy killed. Photographs show garlanded soldiers, captured weapons laid out and rows of dead fighters, captioned that they will never see their home villages again. A casualty ratio and a death warning share one sheet; the caption is addressed to the opposing side as well as to the home audience.

VICTORY IN THUA THIEN

In an ambush at Hoa My in Thua Thien province on 17-3-66, Company 2 of the 3rd Regiment of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (V.N.C.H.) broke up an entire Viet Cong company. 5 Republic soldiers were lightly wounded. On the enemy side 53 Viet Cong were killed on the spot, not counting the dead and wounded they carried away. Our army seized 4 machine guns, 2 B-40 anti-tank guns, 3 submachine guns, 9 Chinese Communist CKC rifles, 7 K-51 guns, 1 carbine, 2 pistols, 1 radio, and much ammunition and important documents.

Victory wreaths have been draped over the outstanding fighters.

53 cadres of the North Vietnamese regular force left their bodies on the battlefield. They will never again see their native villages and families.
