By using FRAME you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. ## Who this site is for FRAME is meant for people **18 or older**. Younger readers may use it only with a parent's or guardian's approval and supervision, and a parent or guardian who allows that is responsible for what the reader sees. If you are a parent or guardian and are not comfortable with the material described below, please do not let a child use the site unsupervised. ## Extremely offensive material FRAME is an archive of propaganda and influence operations. Propaganda is often cruel, and this site shows it as it was published: - racist, antisemitic, sexist, xenophobic and other dehumanizing caricatures and slogans; - war, atrocity and hate propaganda, including images of violence and calls for it; - sexualized, graphic or disturbing images and language; - material from governments, parties, movements and companies across the political spectrum and from every era, including the United States, other democracies and one-party or authoritarian states. **Much of this material is extremely offensive, and it will offend people.** It is shown unaltered, with historical context and, where it is needed, a short content note, because a cleaned-up copy would misrepresent what people were actually shown. **Showing an item is not endorsing it.** Nothing on FRAME is written to persuade you to hold a hatred or to take part in violence, and the archive's own text does not do either. If you may be hurt by this kind of material, please do not continue. ## An educational archive, not advocacy FRAME is a historical and educational record. It describes how messages work and applies the same definitions to every side, country and era. It does not take a position on the causes behind the material it holds, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to support or oppose any person, party, government or cause. Where the Write section teaches persuasion, it does so for open advocacy in the writer's own name. ## Licences and rights - **Site text** is licensed under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). You may reuse it with credit to FRAME. - **Images and documents** hosted on FRAME are in the public domain or carry a verified open licence. **Each item's own rights line, on its page, governs that item**, and it can differ from the text licence. Reuse an image on the terms its page states. - **Historical text** quoted or transcribed on FRAME is reproduced as it was written, including offensive wording and any errors in the original. A quotation appearing here does not mean FRAME agrees with it. - **Names, marks and works of others** that appear on the site belong to their owners. FRAME shows them as historical or documentary evidence and claims no endorsement from them. If you think an item is shown on rights we do not hold, use the reporting steps below. ## How pages are made Some pages may be drafted with AI assistance (Claude). Every page is written to the archive's sourcing and neutrality rules, but a drafting tool can still make mistakes. Check anything important against the sources each page cites. ## No warranty FRAME is provided as it is and as available. We work to make it accurate and sourced, but we do not promise that it is complete, current, error-free or suitable for any purpose. Summaries, dates, attributions and confidence ratings can be wrong or become outdated. Please use the cited primary sources when it matters. Please include: - the address of the page, and what is wrong (a factual error, a broken source, a caption that is unfair to one side, or something else); - for a rights claim: which item, who you are, what right you hold in it, and where the original is published; - how we can reach you. We review each report. Depending on what we find, we correct the page, add the missing source or context, or take the item down. We may also decline a request, and say why. Content notes and offensive material are not, by themselves, grounds for removal, because the archive's purpose is to show the record; a report that an item's rights are not what the page says is treated differently and looked at first.
