'This log cabin was the first building erected on the North Bend', Whig print by T. Sinclair, 1840

Harrison in civilian dress greets a one-legged veteran outside a log cabin with a 'HARRISON & TYLER' flag, coonskin and two hard-cider barrels; a farmer ploughs behind. Tells: the plain-living props (cabin, cider, plough) are plain-folks; the 'HARRISON & TYLER' flag with a liberty cap on its staff and the printed caption that calls the wounded man a comrade met after 'his celebrated Victory at Tippecanoe' lend the cabin the prestige of that victory (transfer).

[Flag:] HARRISON & TYLER
[Barrels:] HARD CIDER
This Log Cabin was the first building erected on the North Bend of the beautiful Ohio River, with the barrel of Cider outside and the door always open to the traveller. The wounded Soldier is one of Gen. Harrison's comrades, meeting him after his celebrated Victory at Tippecanoe and not only does the brave old Hero give his comrade a hearty welcome, but his dog recognizes him as an old acquaintance, and repeats the welcome by a cordial and significant shake of his tail! If the lookeron will only watch close enough he can see the tail absolutely shake in the picture, particularly in a clear day; and if it is held due East and West, so as to feel the power of the magnetic attraction from the Great West.
