Julistus (Proclamation): Red Guard committee denies rumours and orders rumour-spreaders arrested
A one-page Finnish proclamation from a Red Guard committee. It denies rumours that Germans are coming and that the leaders have 'sold the men', pledges to stand 'man to man' against the enemy, demands unquestioning obedience to commanders, and orders that anyone spreading rumours or proclamations 'not in accordance with the workers' struggle' be arrested at once.

Julistus. Tämän viikon ajalla on levitetty provokatsioonisia juttuja saksalaisten Helsinkiin tulosta, mutta sellainen juttu on perätön. Viime yön aikana on levitetty myöskin lentolehtiä, joissa kehotetaan kaartia laskemaan aseensa ja antautumaan häpeällisesti. Valehtelemalla myöskin samassa julistuksessa sanotaan että johtajat ovat myyneet miehet. Toverit! Se ei ole totta. Kaikki paikallisen kaartin jäsenet ovat paikallaan. Kaartin johtajat eivät myy joukkojaan, olkaa varmoja. Me seisomme mies miehenä vihollista vastaan, emmekä laske aseita alas, levitettäköön mitä huhuja tahansa. Joka miehen on seistävä paikallaan ja toteltava ehdottomasti päällikköjen antamia määräyksiä. Henkilöt, jotka huhuja levittävät ja jakavat julistuksia, jotka eivät ole työväen taistelun mukaisia, täytyy heti vangita ja saattaa tuomittavaksi. Lähempiä tietoja annetaan lehdessä. Proclamation. During this week provocative stories have been spread about the arrival of the Germans in Helsinki, but such a story is groundless. During the past night leaflets have also been spread, urging the Guard to lay down its arms and to surrender shamefully. By lying, the same proclamation also says that the leaders have sold the men. Comrades! That is not true. All members of the local Guard are in their places. The leaders of the Guard do not sell their troops, be sure of that. We stand man to man against the enemy and do not lay down our arms, whatever rumours may be spread. Every man must stand at his post and obey unconditionally the orders given by the commanders. Persons who spread rumours and distribute proclamations that are not in accordance with the workers' struggle must be arrested at once and brought to trial.
