Chitra Katha photo poster No. 35: Miss Naila Ahmed of Pakistan at the New York Herald Tribune Forum (Bengali photo poster distributed in Dacca)
A Bengali photo sheet following Naila Ahmed, a Pakistani high school student, at the New York Herald Tribune Youth Forum. Photographs show her at a school in Roxbury, in a chemistry class, at a typewriter, sharing an ice cream soda and in a library. The text says 35 students from 31 countries took part and that she stayed two weeks with a host family. The tell is plain-folks: everyday American school and home life is shown as welcoming, with no difficulties pictured.
