Puck cover by Frederick Burr Opper, 27 August 1884: Benjamin F. Butler as a seated Chinese idol ('A Goodman Weighing 250 lbs.') while Charles A. Dana of the New York Sun, as his only priest, burns papers headed 'Butler's praises' and 'Butler's statesmanship'. A clipping at right quotes the New York Sun of 17 September 1878 saying Butler had ceased to be a Democrat.
