A Long Range Assault: Puck cover on the French press and the Transvaal, 3 January 1900
Puck cover: a grinning, top-hatted caricature, labelled by his quill "FRENCH PRESS", stands on a pedestal marked "PARIS" and kicks a shoe marked "INSULTS" toward a small British lion in the smoke of the "TRANSVAAL" war, with papers marked "VENOMOUS ARTICLES" and "SPITE CARTOONS" scattered below. The tell: a whole national press is reduced to one sneering figure and a list of loaded labels (name-calling).
