Content note: 1896 Puck cartoon with a period caricature of Native Americans. This object is shown as it was published. Why
Last ghost-dance of the free silver tribe (Puck)
Puck centerfold cartoon by Louis Dalrymple, 4 November 1896 (election eve): Bryan, Sewall, Watson, Altgeld, Teller, Peffer, Jerry Simpson, Bland, Stewart, Jones and others, drawn as Native American dancers around a campfire labelled 'Repudiation', 'just before being sent to the Salt River Reservation'. The Native imagery borrows the stigma of the Ghost Dance and uses period racial caricature.
