Alliés pour la paix mondiale, 1952 US poster: A photo-set poster of foreign soldiers training at Fort Benning, Georgia

Alliés pour la paix mondiale (French poster distributed in Asia)

A photo-set poster of foreign soldiers training at Fort Benning, Georgia: a machine-gun team, a rifle-instruction pair, a classroom of officers writing, infantry and a tank in a field exercise, a group portrait of officers from 23 nations, and a mortar crew. The text argues that free nations present a stronger united front if their armies train and arm alike. The tell is glittering-generalities, with 'world peace' attached to military training, and bandwagon, in the count of 23 nations training together.

Allies for world peace

The free nations of the world will be able to present a much more united front against the aggressor if their respective armies receive the same military training and if their equipment is all alike. That is the aim of a training program now under way at Fort Benning, the infantry training center in the United States, where soldiers of most free nations undergo the same training as their American comrades. They all learn to handle the same weapons and are taught the same theories. Back home they will share their knowledge with their comrades, fellow soldiers.

The present practice of all weapons and the study of military operations are part of the plan meant to prevent any attack by warlike nations and to ensure world peace.

On the maneuver grounds they see the combined efforts of men and equipment in settling problems that may arise under fire. They too will take part in maneuvers of this kind.

(for the horizontal photo). At present soldiers from twenty-three nations are undergoing military training at Fort Benning. A bit of chat in front of the school building.

Working as one and the same team, men from several nations gather and evaluate their data to place the fire of an 81 mm mortar as accurately as possible during target practice.
