ATTENTION! COLLEGE MEN! The U.S. COAST GUARD NEEDS OFFICERS THE United States Coast Guard Reserve Officers Training School is open to college men holding a Bachelor's (or better) degree from an accredited university or college, who are twenty to twenty-nine years of age (inclusive) and unmarried. Course runs from three to four months and is given at the Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut. Cadets, upon satisfactory completion of this training are eligible for commissions in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Pay of a cadet while in training for a reserve commission is at the rate of $780.00 per year, plus an allowance for subsistence. After graduation the cadet is eligible for commission as Ensign at a pay rate of $125.00 per month plus allowances. Traveling expenses to and from the Academy are paid by the Coast Guard.
