Bản Quốc-thiều Việt-Nam (The Vietnamese National Anthem; Vietnamese-language sheet distributed in Vietnam)
A text sheet printing the words of the Vietnamese national anthem under the heading 'Bản Quốc-thiều Việt-Nam'. The verses call young people of North and South to rise together, not to spare their blood and to remember they are of Lạc-Hồng stock. The tell is transfer and glittering generalities: the prestige of the national song and ancestry is attached to unity and sacrifice.

Text on the object
BẢN QUỐC-THIỀU VIỆT-NAM Này Thanh-niên ôi ! đứng lên đáp lời Sông-Núi, Đồng lòng cùng đi, đi, đi mở đường khai lối, Vì non sông nước xưa, truyền muôn năm chớ quên, Nào anh em Bắc, Nam, cùng nhau ta kết đoàn, Đời thanh-xuân như gương trong sáng. Đừng tiếc máu nóng thời sinh-tráng, Đời khó thế khó, khó làm nản ta. Dầu muôn chông gai, vững lòng chí sá, Đường mới kíp tiến bước nhìn xa bốn phương, Tung cánh hồng, thiếu-niên ai đó can-trường. Thanh-niên ôi, hăng hái đi tới cùng, Thanh-niên ôi, ta nguyền đem hết lòng, Tiến lên cùng tiến, vẻ vang nòi giống, Chớ quên rằng ta là giống Lạc-Hồng.
Vietnamese National Anthem. Hey, young people, rise and answer the call of the Rivers and Mountains; together, with one heart, let us go on and open the way. For the ancient land and waters handed down over ten thousand years, do not forget. Come, brothers of North and South, let us unite; youth is like a bright mirror. Do not begrudge your hot blood in the prime of life; hard as times are, hardship will not make us lose heart. Through all thorns and obstacles, firm in purpose, we need not fear; hasten along the new road and look to the four directions; spread the wings, brave youth. Young people, press eagerly on to the end; young people, we vow to give our whole hearts. March forward together, bringing glory to our race; do not forget that we are of the Lạc-Hồng stock.
Show-through from the reverse is excluded; the translation is literal but poetic phrasing is approximate.
