Content note: Wartime Canadian poster with a Nazi swastika and a caricatured enemy officer. This object is shown as it was published. Why
Danke Schön! "Thanks for the Tip-off"
A grinning German naval officer in a peaked cap rubs his hands over a swastika-marked hull, with a burning ship sinking behind him, under 'Danke Schön! Thanks for the Tip-off'. The sunk ship stages the harm that loose talk can cause (fear-appeal), and the leering caricature of the enemy is the loaded label in picture form (name-calling).
