Love of Sport - Czechoslovakia
A landscape leaflet page with four photographs (ice hockey, a goalkeeper, a tennis champion with cups, a group of gymnasts) beside text on national sport. The tell for glittering generalities is 'in almost all forms of sport the Czechoslovaks excel' and 'world-beaters'; the tell for card-stacking is the list of successes without comparison or dates.

Text on the object
LOVE OF SPORT Like ourselves the Czechoslovaks love games and sport. About a million pounds was spent annually by the Government to provide better sporting equipment and facilities. In almost all forms of sport the Czechoslovaks excel. Their football and ice-hockey teams have more than once been champions of Europe. Their gymnasts and swimmers carried off many cups at International contests ; at tennis and table-tennis they are world-beaters. TOP RIGHT : Karel Kozeluh—for many years the world professional champion tennis player. BOTTOM LEFT : Planicka—most famous of international goalkeepers on the Continent. 9
