Exhibition of Paintings poster, USIS Sketch Club (Karachi)

A two-colour poster for an exhibition of paintings by members of the USIS Sketch Club, opening on 8 August 1957 at the Y.W.C.A. Hall, Bunder Road, 'in celebration of Pakistan Independence Day'. A line drawing of a woman and child among leaves and birds sits beside a painter's palette. The tell is transfer: a national holiday of the host country is used to lend occasion to a U.S. information post's art club.
