Four men in work clothes read a leaflet in front of a wooden board headed 'Advertising for our party press'. Party newspapers and journals are pinned to it above a hand-painted tally: a target of 455 subscribers against 178 on 30 March, and at the foot the line 'Werde auch Du ein A-' ('You too become a ...', cut off by the men in front). The public running count and the 'you too' address ask each worker to join the number who have already signed.

Read from the committed image and magnified crops. Text is cut off on the right by the workers standing in front of the board and by the frame; only visible letters are transcribed. 'Wir haben uns' is followed by a line that appears to have been painted over, and the large 'Soll' is read as written; the bracketed 'set' in the translation is not on the board.
