Content note: Antisemitic forgery: an Austrian postage stamp with the country name altered to 'Jewish Austria'. This object is shown as it was published. Why
"Jüdischösterreich" forgery of an Austrian 80 Heller stamp (Austria, about 1920)
Two panels: at top, a detail of the genuine red Austrian 80 Heller eagle stamp reading "Deutschösterreich"; below, a pair of the same stamp on a cover with the country name altered to "Jüdischösterreich" (Jewish Austria). The tell is the single swapped word: the official name of the state is replaced by an ethnic-religious label, so the state's own stamp carries the insult.
