Malaya Today, Picture Set D, no. 9: Armoured cars in the Coronation parade, Kuala Lumpur (Tamil photo poster distributed in Malaya)
A photograph of an armoured car and a following truck driving past a decorated grandstand and an arch topped with a crown and the cipher 'E II R' (partly legible) and the words 'LONG LIVE THE QUEEN', in front of a Moorish-style government building. The Tamil caption says the armoured car units are passing in the coronation parade at Kuala Lumpur. The tell is transfer: the crown, the arch and the ceremony attach royal prestige to the Malayan military.
