Member of the United States Food Administration (Window Card)
A card bearing the words 'Member of United States Food Administration' surrounds a shield of stars and stripes ringed by a wheat wreath, with a line asking the household to hang it in the front window. The card has no argument; it works as a public badge of pledged participation in food conservation. The tell of identity-fusion is the display itself, which makes the household's compliance visible to neighbours and part of its identity.
