Attention AFP Soldiers: These Are the New Huk Tactics

Attention AFP Soldiers: These Are the New Huk Tactics

A warning sheet addressed to soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the Huk campaign. A seven-point list of guerrilla tactics, each answered by a red caution, ends 'Don't get killed by carelessness', beside a woodcut-style drawing of a snarling, wild-haired face over a jungle ambush. The harm is staged as imminent and the protection offered is the vigilance the sheet prescribes.

ATTENTION: AFP SOLDIERS

These are the NEW huk tactics:

1. HARASS LARGE AFP UNITS BY SMALL HUK UNITS.
(BE ALERT AT ALL TIMES)

2. DESTROY SMALL AFP UNITS BY BIGGER HUK ORGANIZATIONS.
(AVOID UNDUE EXPOSURE)

3. AMBUSH ARMY PATROLS THRU HIT AND RUN ATTACKS.
(LOOK AND SEARCH ALL DIRECTIONS ALWAYS)

4. SNIPE AT LONE AFP SOLDIER OR SMALL GROUPS IN BIVOUAC OR IN CAMP.
(NEVER BE OFF-GUARD)

5. AMBUSH LONE ARMY VEHICLE AND SEIZE ARMS, AMMO AND PROVISIONS OF SLAIN AFP SOLDIERS.
(AVOID BEING ALONE IN OUT-OF-THE-WAY PLACES)

6. URGE CIVILIANS HIRED BY AFP AS GUIDES OR CARGADORES TO COMMIT SABOTAGE.
(SCREEN CIVILIAN GUIDES AND CARGADORES THOROUGHLY)

7. AMBUSH RETURNING AFP VEHICLES AFTER OPERATION.
(NEVER RELAX VIGILANCE)
