"Reagan stop Star-Wars": placard and children's banners at an anti-missile demonstration, The Hague
A hand-painted board reads 'REAGAN STOP STAR-WARS'. Beside it two children in costume hold white banners painted with a black sun, and a pennant reads 'what happens to the earth happens to the children of the earth'. The pennant sets the stake as harm to children and the planet, and the sun-and-children imagery carries the warning in place of an argument about missile policy.

Text on the object
REAGAN STOP STAR-WARS [pennant, lettered down the cloth:] WAT MET DE [A]ARDE GE[B]EURT, GEBEURT GE[...] DE [KIN]DEREN [...] DE [illegible] [A]ARDE
REAGAN STOP STAR WARS [pennant:] WHAT HAPPENS TO THE EARTH HAPPENS, HAPPENS [...] THE [CHIL]DREN [...] THE [illegible] EARTH
The pennant's lines are partly covered by a hand and the fold of the cloth; bracketed letters and gaps are not supplied. The two long white banners carry painted suns and marks rather than words. A small button at the left edge reads 'EN NOG ... REST NOG ?' with a peace sign and is not transcribed.
