Content note: Painted British wartime image of Indian, African, Canadian, Australian and British personnel, in the period's illustrative style, as issued. This object is shown as it was published. Why
The British Commonwealth of Nations - Together
Seven uniformed men march with rifles in front of a Union Jack: a turbaned soldier, a Black soldier in a slouch hat, men in pith helmet and bush hat, an airman with a 'CANADA' flash, and a sailor of H.M.S. Victory. The single word 'TOGETHER' stands for the whole argument (glittering generalities), and the flag lends its authority to every figure (transfer).
