A Motor-Cycle Squad of the Indian Military Police in Egypt

A low-angle photograph shows a rank of turbaned Indian Military Police riders on motorcycles, with a caption describing them as a 'fine body of men' drawn up for inspection in Egypt. The poster is mostly descriptive; the tell for glittering-generalities is the approving label 'fine body of men' and the 'For Freedom' tag, with no figures or claims to test. It presents the Indian Army as part of the British war effort.

A MOTOR-CYCLE SQUAD OF
THE INDIAN MILITARY POLICE IN EGYPT

LIKE THE BRITISH ARMY, the Indian Army has its own Military Police, who patrol the areas in which Indian soldiers are stationed. This fine body of men is the Indian Motor-Cycle Squad of Military Police, drawn up for inspection in Egypt.
