Resources of Brazil: Products She Contributes to the Defeat of the Axis
A commodity map of Brazil with a product legend, three small maps of Latin American population, topography and rainfall, and a Brazilian flag, under the heading 'Products She Contributes to the Defeat of the Axis'. It is mostly informational. The one phrase doing rhetorical work is 'Arsenal of Democracy' in the text, a virtue label in place of a measured claim (glittering-generalities, closest fit).

Text on the object
Resources of BRAZIL PRODUCTS SHE CONTRIBUTES TO THE DEFEAT OF THE AXIS These maps show the geography and economy of Brazil and the relation of her population, topography and rainfall to those of South America generally. The commodity map shows not only the basic products but also those of less quantitative importance to Brazilian economy as a whole but still of the utmost value in war. We rely upon these products to keep the Arsenal of Democracy at peak production. The symbols of commodity outposts are only relatively accurate. They do not show exact proportions of any one product but the areas of major, intermediate and minor production. [Also printed: map titles POPULATION OF LATIN AMERICA, TOPOGRAPHY OF LATIN AMERICA, RAINFALL OF LATIN AMERICA; LEGEND (Sugar, Wheat, Barley, Corn, Bananas, Rice, Rye, Oats, Vegetable Oils, Cattle Hides, Sheep Wool, Coffee, Cocoa, Cotton, Rope Fibres, Tannin, Industrial Diamonds, Quartz Crystal, Zinc, Rubber, Gold, Coal, Mica, Beryllium, Iron, Chrome); KEY TO LAND AREAS (Intensive Agriculture, Grazing Lands, Lands Largely Forested, Agriculturally Unproductive); map labels not transcribed.]
