A New Quest for Union poster, Free World supplement (English, Manila)
A Free World supplement sheet built on a photograph of President Johnson addressing Congress, with three captioned photographs: 'To live together in peace' (the President greeting a crowd with small flags), 'To support Viet-Nam's freedom' (soldiers in helmets with a rifle) and 'To wage war against poverty and disease' (children queuing at a clinic). Two quotations from President Johnson follow. The tell is glittering-generalities: peace, freedom and 'welfare of all their people' are virtue words, set beside a military image.

Text on the object
A NEW QUEST FOR UNION TO LIVE TOGETHER IN PEACE TO SUPPORT VIET-NAM'S FREEDOM TO WAGE WAR AGAINST POVERTY AND DISEASE We seek the unity of man with the world he has built—with the knowledge that can save or destroy him—with the cities which can stimulate or stifle him—with the wealth and machines which can enrich or menace his spirit. We are committed to help those seeking to strengthen their own independence, and to work most closely with those governments dedicated to the welfare of all their people. --President Lyndon B.
