A Nepali-language biographical poster on Abraham Lincoln, 12 February 1809 to 14 April 1865, the sixteenth U.S. president, titled the 'Great Emancipator'. A large portrait sits above six drawings with captions: a log cabin birth in a poor family, reading by night, becoming a lawyer and congressman, election in 1860, the Emancipation Proclamation of 1 January 1863, and his death at a theatre in 1865. The tell is glittering-generalities: a national figure is presented through virtue words such as liberator.

अब्राहम लिंकन फेब्रुवरी १२,१८०९-अप्रिल १४,१८६५ संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकाको सोह्रौं राष्ट्रपति "महान मुक्तिदाता" लिंकन एउटा सानी काठकी झुपडीमा जन्मी हुर्केका थिए। उनको परिवार साह्रै गरीव थियो। खेतमा दिनभरी परिश्रम गरि सके पछि उनी रातमा पढ्दथे। अंकगणित गर्न उनीसँग कागज थिएन, त्यसैले उनी काठकी पाटीमा गोलले अंकगणित गर्दथे। उनी वकिल भए, र पछि राष्ट्रिय कांग्रेसको लागि निर्वाचित भए। लिंकन सन् १८६०मा संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकाको राष्ट्रपति चुनिनु भयो। सन १८६३, जनवरी १ तारिखको दिन उनले 'मुक्ति घोषणा' गरेर सबै दासहरूलाई अमलेख गर्नु भयो। सन १८६५मा थिएटर हेरि रहँदा एउटा हत्यारा द्वारा उनको मृत्यु भयो।
Abraham Lincoln February 12, 1809 - April 14, 1865 Sixteenth President of the United States of America "Great Liberator" Lincoln was born and raised in a small log hut. His family was very poor. After working hard all day in the field, he read at night. He had no paper to do arithmetic on, so he did sums with charcoal on a wooden board. He became a lawyer, and later was elected to the national Congress. In 1860 Lincoln was elected President of the United States of America. On January 1, 1863, he issued the 'Emancipation Proclamation' and freed all the slaves. In 1865, while watching a play at the theatre, he died at the hands of an assassin.
Devanagari reading is careful but a few conjuncts may be misread; one phrase near the end of the 1863 caption is rendered approximately.
