Burma-America Picture News poster No. 5 (Burmese poster distributed in Rangoon)
A Burmese-language photo-montage poster with blue banners reading 'Burma-American' and 'pictorial news' and a USIS emblem. Black-and-white photographs show a handshake between two men, guests at a reception holding drinks, a display case of books and printed items, a child patient in a hospital ward beside a volleyball net, a handover of cloth, and men examining mounted photographs. The tell is transfer with plain-folks: handshakes, receptions and gifts are used to associate goodwill and practical help with the U.S.-Burma relationship.
