You can win against winter if you pay attention to the special cold-weather operating instructions for vehicles, TB ORD 126, Cold Weather Lubrication and Service of Combat and Transport Matériel, 19 July 1944.
Consult War Department Supply Bulletin SB 9-16, 2 March 1944, for authorized winterization equipment for automotive matériel.
Requisition winter grade lubricants early and use them strictly in accordance with your War Department Lubrication Order.
Keep your storage battery fully charged and maintained according to instructions in TB ORD 67, Storage Batteries, 18 March 1944.
Perform regular and special preventive maintenance services according to instructions in the technical manual for your equipment.
To keep radiator filled, never add straight water. Add temperature-tested mixture of compound, antifreeze, and water. Leave room for expansion so coolant won't overflow and be wasted. Play safe—make sure your vehicle has antifreeze protection—test it yourself—test it frequently!
