The Fight Goes On - Czechoslovakia, 1939 Czechoslovakia leaflet: Page 16 of an illustrated pamphlet

The Fight Goes On - Czechoslovakia

Page 16 of an illustrated pamphlet: six photographs of Czechoslovak soldiers (1938 army, 1939 in France, Middle East, women's auxiliary in Palestine, anti-tank unit and woman sniper in Russia) beside text giving 1938 army strength and exile-army service. The tell is selection: strength figures and honours are given without losses or the outcome of 1938, and 'defence of liberty' and 'liberation of Europe' stand in for specifics.

THE FIGHT GOES ON

The Czechoslovak Army of 1939 in France.
Czechoslovak soldiers in the Middle East.
Czechoslovak A.T.S. in Palestine.
A Czechoslovak anti-tank Unit in Russia.
A Czechoslovak woman sniper in Russia.

In 1938 Czechoslovakia, in spite of limited resources, was fully prepared to fight against Nazi Germany in defence of liberty. When the Czechoslovak Army mobilised in 1938 its strength was:—

41 Infantry Divisions.
4 Armoured Divisions.
25 Fortress Regiments.
41 Artillery Regiments.

In all, there were 1,300,000 men, all excellently armed by the well-known Skoda armament factories.

A Czechoslovak Army fought in France and was reformed in England. It is now ready to take its part in the liberation of Europe.

Some Units have already gained battle honours in the Middle East. Other Units are fighting in Russia and distinguished themselves at the liberation of Kiev. A Czechoslovak Brigade has now reached the frontiers of their homeland with the advancing Soviet forces.
