Social Progress - Czechoslovakia, 1939 Czechoslovakia leaflet: A landscape leaflet page with photographs of a state hospital

Social Progress - Czechoslovakia

A landscape leaflet page with photographs of a state hospital, a children's pool and the Masaryk Homes for old people, beside text on social welfare and a closing contrast with German rule. The tell for card-stacking is the pre-Munich welfare list set against one closing sentence about the concentration camp, with no figures; 'Social Progress' is a virtue phrase used without measures.

SOCIAL PROGRESS

Social Progress was advanced and was still advancing in Czechoslovakia. A Ministry of Social Welfare safe-guarded workers wages, working hours, housing conditions, health and holidays. Special care was given to the very young and the old. The scope of Social Insurance was wide and made hospital treatment available to all ; generous grants and provisions were made to mothers and their babies.

Before Munich there were many school milk centres; clinics for mothers and infants ; free dispensaries ; childrens' holiday centres, convalescent homes and orphanages.

Now, in place of Social Progress the Germans solve all problems with the concentration camp.
