"Por amor a Chávez, Maduro presidente": campaign mural, Margarita Island, 2013
Painted wall on Margarita Island: a portrait of Maduro in yellow, blue and red beside the text 'Por amor a Chávez, MADURO PRESIDENTE', a heart in the national colours, and a painted pair of eyes (Chávez's) set between 'Chávez' and the heart. The tell: the case for the candidate is the dead leader's name and gaze; Maduro's own platform appears nowhere on the wall.
