Recruiting poster Nos. 3 and 4, J64QD1 (Vietnamese poster distributed in Saigon)
A Vietnamese recruiting poster for the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. A large question mark filled with small drawings (a medic examining a soldier, a family-quarters gate, a school, a man receiving pay and mail) rises behind a profile head, and a circle shows a soldier embracing his wife and child. The text asks what the reader still fears before joining. The tell is plain-folks and glittering-generalities: army life is shown as medical care, housing, schooling and family.
