Content note: Caricature of Kaiser Wilhelm II in a spiked helmet, drawn scowling and pointing at a map. This object is shown as it was published. Why
Rumania's Day, poster for the Central Committee for National Patriotic Organisations, London, [1918]
A cartoon of a spiked-helmet Kaiser jabbing at a map beside a bemused uniformed King of Romania, captioned as a two-line exchange in which the Kaiser invokes Hindenburg and the King answers that 'freedom and justice fight on mine'. The tell is the reply, which sets two abstract virtue words against a named general in place of any account of the campaign.
