Shipbuilder's creed for '43
Navy Incentive Division sheet for shipyard workers: a smiling worker in a hard hat with goggles beside a scroll listing four pledges on attendance, time, care and loyalty, ending 'No absentee in '43!'. Plain-folks figure and virtue words (loyal, careful, regular) ask for steady attendance; the footer plays on 'Don't give up the ship' with 'slow' written over 'give'.

SHIPBUILDER'S CREED FOR '43 I shall be regular in my attendance remembering that every extra day off is a red letter day for the enemy! I shall be thrifty with my time, giving every working hour 60 minutes! I shall be careful of my work so that no mistake of mine will cause a delay! I shall be loyal to my ship and to my country never forgetting that every launching is a naval victory! NO ABSENTEE IN '43! Don't Give SLOW Up the Ship [imprint: LUTZ & SHEINKMAN, NEW YORK] [imprint: INCENTIVE DIVISION, NAVY DEPARTMENT S-5-11M]
