Stick to your guns!
Photo-display poster from the series Victory News: four black-and-white photographs of U.S. Marines on Guadalcanal (a sentry, a gun crew in foxholes, a tank, a column on the march) with captions, above a text that asks civilians to 'stick to our guns' on production lines and in the war bond campaign. The soldiers' hardship is offered as the pattern for civilian effort (transfer), closing on a direct question to the reader.

Text on the object
STICK TO YOUR GUNS! A U. S. Marine mounts guard as his comrades fortify a ridge protecting Henderson Field at Guadalcanal. Neck deep in foxholes—these Marines are ready for the Japanese planes. Rumbling over the beach at Guadal-canal and heading for the enemy. Tired and wet from almost continual rains, the Marines tramp into a village from which they have just chased the Japanese. In the jungles of Guadalcanal—despite hardship, sacrifice and privation—our fighting men stick to their guns. Their heroism is a challenge to us to stick to our guns—on the production lines, in the war bond campaign, in all war activities—and to stick to them day in and day out, come what may! Are you meeting the challenge? [imprint: VICTORY NEWS Vol. I, No. 4] [imprint: PHOTO NEWS DISPLAY CORP., 15 EAST 40th STREET, N. Y. C.]
