This Is VC Guilt

A landscape sheet headed 'Here! Viet Cong crime' reports that a Dong-Loi bus carrying passengers in Kien Giang hit a mine on 31 May 1967, wounding 26 people and killing one woman in hospital. Photos show the damaged bus, wounded patients, a covered body and villagers with banners denouncing the attack. The tell is the pairing of wounded victims with a rhetorical question ('Is this an achievement of the so-called National Liberation Front?') and a call to take revenge.

HERE! VIET CONG CRIME

On the morning of 31-5-67, a Dong-Loi bus full of passengers on the road from Kien-Giang to Kien-Binh district hit a Viet Cong mine, wounding 26 people (serious and light), who were taken to the Kien-Giang Provincial Hospital for treatment; among them one woman died at the hospital.

Is this an achievement of the self-styled National Liberation Front?

This scene of mourning and grief further stokes the people's deep hatred, turning it into concrete action, a firm resolve to rise up and destroy the bloodthirsty, heartless Communist gang, to avenge those who died unjustly and to help protect rural security.

The Dong-Loi bus on the road from Rach-Gia to Kien-Binh district seat hit a Viet Cong mine, leaving many passengers seriously wounded and the bus badly damaged.

Some victims, including old people and women, lie seriously wounded in hospital.

Because of her wounds one woman died at Kien-Giang Provincial Hospital after being bandaged.

The people spontaneously hold a meeting to condemn with all their strength the savage act of the Viet Cong in mining the bus and killing innocent civilians.
