Valley Bandillo, USIS Tuguegarao, No. 6, photo page (Tuguegarao, Cagayan, 1953)

A newsletter photo page with five captioned pictures: a U.S. Navy fire boat unloaded at Saigon, soldiers and villagers building forts at Binh Thanh, author Jade Snow Wong at a Bangkok school, Vietnamese military internees released after a re-education program, and Supreme Court justices with President Eisenhower. The tell is transfer and glittering-generalities: the justices are captioned 'guardians of laws and liberties', and the Vietnamese pictures are framed as allied progress against 'communist-led rebels'.
