A Cossack lancer charges out of smoke and cloud above the words 'Военный заемъ 5½%' and the printed line 'Purpose of the loan: to hasten victory over the enemy; take part in the subscription without losing time'. The cavalryman's charge is set directly over the bond notice, so the soldier's courage is transferred to the act of subscribing.
