Buy War Bonds - Third War Loan
Colour photograph of a freckled boy in tears wearing a Medal of Honor and holding a captain's cap, under 'Buy War Bonds' and 'Third War Loan'. The medal and officer's insignia imply a father lost in service; the child's grief is set beside the purchase request (fear-appeal, transfer).
