PRIMERA VISITA A SAN JOSE.—Alumnos de la Escuela de La Virgen, en Sarapiquí, con su Director profesor Luis Núñez Garro, hicieron una visita a San José para conocer la capital.
REUNION DE PRESIDENTES.—El Presidente de los Estados Unidos y el Presidente de México se reunieron en una ceremonia simbólica, en la frontera de ambos países, para poner fin a la disputa que por más de un siglo ha existido sobre la zona de Chamizal, en El Paso, Texas.
RECIBE PREMIO DE "LA VOZ".—Alvaro A. Ordeñana Astorga, alumno del Centro Cultural Puntarenense-Norteamericano recibió un valioso Album de Estampillas, como premio de "La Voz de los Estados Unidos de América".
EL TEATRO DE BALLET NORTEAMERICANO.—Con éxito extraordinario se presentó en el Teatro Nacional la Compañía del Teatro de Ballet Norteamericano, como parte de la gira latinoamericana.
AL PLANETA MARTE.—Técnicos norteamericanos aparecen aquí armando un "Mariner," vehículo espacial que transmitirá las primeras fotografías televisadas del planeta Marte.
Cada año, en diciembre, el Presidente de los Estados Unidos de América inaugura la iluminación del Arbol Nacional de Navidad, en los jardines de la Casa Blanca, en la ciudad capital de Washington. Con este acto tradicional se inicia oficialmente la temporada navideña que año con año inunda de alegrías y de esperanzas a la humanidad bajo el lema bíblico "Gloria a Dios en las alturas y paz en la Tierra a los hombres de buena voluntad."
CONVENIO PARA RADIOAFICIONADOS.—El Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores Lic. Daniel Oduber y el Embajador de los Estados Unidos en Costa Rica, Sr. Raymond Telles, firman el convenio mediante el cual radioaficionados de Costa Rica pueden operar sus estaciones en los Estados Unidos.
La CARE y el Ministerio de Salubridad Pública tienen un programa conjunto para instalar bombas de agua en pequeños y aislados pueblos de ocho regiones del país.
EL INFORME DE LA COMISION WARREN.—En el mes de septiembre, la Comisión Warren presentó al Presidente Lyndon B. Johnson su informe oficial sobre el asesinato del Presidente John F. Kennedy.
