"英雄黄继光" (Hero Huang Jiguang), Shanghai poster
A soldier in a fur cap and field jacket, a badge on his chest, lunges forward through smoke and flying debris toward a bunker slit at the lower left. The only text is the red title 'Hero Huang Jiguang'. One named martyr's image carries the whole message with no argument attached, so his prestige is lent to the viewer's sense of duty (transfer).
