Kim Il-sung lapel badges on a school group, North Korea (photographed 2010)

A group of teenage boys in white shirts walks together on a road, and each shirt carries a small red badge above the left breast pocket. The photographer's description on Commons says these are Kim Il-sung badges and that more than 20 kinds exist, worn according to the wearer's class; the badge design cannot be resolved at this size. The tell: transfer, the leader's likeness is pinned to the body of ordinary citizens so that his standing is carried into daily life.
