Posamezna številka 6 vinarjev. Izven Ljubljane 8 vin. Štev. 168. V Ljubljani, v ponedeljek, 27. julija 1914. Leto XLII. [...] Dovolj je že zasmeha, dovolj je sramotenja in izzivanja, dovolj je potrpežljivosti in mehkih besed, dovolj je izgubljenih milijonov gospodarsko uničenih eksistenc in propalih gospodarstev! [...] iz Belgrada nam pošiljajo bombe, revolverje in morilce, plemenito kri naše cesarske hiše prelivajo! [...] Avstrija se je našla. [...] [...] »Edinost Avstriji je vez, Edinost Avstriji je jez, Edini gremo zanjo v boj, o Avstrija, Ti dom si moj.« Noga avstrijskega vojaka še ni prestopila meje srbske zemlje in kralj Peter, njegova vlada in njegova oborožena moč je že zapustila Belgrad, prestolnico kraljevine. Kotišče bombavšev in revolverskih junakov, ognjišče protiavstrijskih spletk in kovarstev, je že zapuščeno in osamelo. [...] Živela Avstrija! Doli s Srbijo! [...] [...] Bojni grom. Krvava pesem do neba / upije; / Kri Ferdinandova je vmes, / Zofije. [...] S kanoni vas pozdravimo / vi Srbi; / dom hladen vam postavimo / ob vrbi . . . V imenu božjem pride k vam / armada / pogledat, kaj se sveti tam / z Belgráda. [...] [...] LISTEK. Ruska nevarnost. [...]
Single copy 6 vinarji. Outside Ljubljana 8 vin. No. 168. In Ljubljana, on Monday, 27 July 1914. Year XLII. SLOVENEC Political paper for the Slovene nation. Austria has found herself. In these fateful, serious and historic times, in which the whole world looks at the Austrian monarchy and its peoples, in these times when enemies have declared our state a grave in which there is no life and from which there is no rising, in times when our enemies have cast dice to gamble for our coat, in these times Europe has suddenly shuddered and sees, astonished, that the grave is empty and a giant stands upon it. And this giant is the Austrian monarchy. Today the whole Austrian monarchy has only one thought and on the tongue of all only one word: Be hard, relentless, a man of steel, when it is a matter of defending our homeland's right. [...] Enough of mockery, enough of insult and provocation, enough of patience and soft words, enough of millions lost, of economically ruined livelihoods and failed businesses! [...] from Belgrade they send us bombs, revolvers and murderers, they shed the noble blood of our imperial house! [...] Austria has found herself. [...] She found herself in danger, in love and unity. [...] "Unity is Austria's bond, unity is Austria's dam, united we go to battle for her, o Austria, thou art my home." The foot of an Austrian soldier has not yet crossed the border of Serbian land and King Peter, his government and his armed force have already left Belgrade, the capital of the kingdom. The hotbed of bomb-throwers and revolver heroes, the hearth of anti-Austrian intrigues and treachery, is already abandoned and desolate. [...] Long live Austria! Down with Serbia! [...] There is no state in the whole of Europe, Turkey included, where such banditic means are used consistently as in Serbia. Bombs and revolvers are the cultural means of this company. In cold blood they murdered our heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand and his wife — in thanks for Austria having protected the Serbs against the Turks through the centuries, [...] Serbia is the state of Judases, a permanent disgrace on the body of Yugoslavism. The cry 'Long live Austria' resounds across the whole land. [...] If ever a war was just, it is the war against Serbia, this disgraceful state that lives only on murder, swindling and perfidy. That state must be humbled, that is the only road to a true, lasting peace. — We want peace — but a lasting, true, reliable peace, which there will never be if Europe had to bear on itself the banditic Serb nest. [...] Thunder of war. A bloody song cries up / to heaven; / Ferdinand's blood is in it, / Sophie's. [...] With cannon we greet you, / you Serbs; / we will set a cold home for you / by the willow . . . In God's name an army / comes to you / to see what is shining there / from Belgrade. [...] The most illustrious Emperor calls us ... The news of mobilisation and a possible war spread like lightning yesterday morning. Among the people a real war mood arose. [...] FEUILLETON. Russian danger. [...]
