"위대한 장군님의 선군사상으로 사회주의위업을 끝까지 완성하자!": Songun billboard, Pyongyang (photographed 2011)

A Pyongyang street billboard shows four figures in profile: a helmeted soldier with a rifle, a helmeted worker with a rocket launcher, a technician with rolled plans and a hammer, and a woman with a sheaf of grain. A red banner reads 'Strong and prosperous nation'; missiles and jets fly behind. The slogan reads 'Let us carry the socialist cause through to the end with the great General's Songun idea!' The tell: identity-fusion, with army, industry and farmers drawn as one body behind the leader's doctrine.
