The Return of a "Halifax"
A colour photograph of a Handley Page Halifax bomber in camouflage over fields, with a Union flag emblem marked 'For Freedom'. The tell for transfer is the flag and roundels carrying the message; the tell for card-stacking is that the text says the aircraft, 'like most of its fellows', returns safely, with no figures for losses.

Text on the object
THE RETURN OF A "HALIFAX" THIS "HALIFAX" BOMBER has flown thousands of miles across sea and enemy occupied land to drop its load of bombs upon important docks and factories. In spite of German anti-aircraft fire and fighter aircraft, it, like most of its fellows, is making a safe return to a British airfield. The "Halifax" bomber carries the largest bomb-load for its size. [imprint:] FOR FREEDOM GPD/ED9/3
