技術援助を受けて各国は、国民の健康を増進し維持することが出来る。 (Receiving technical assistance, countries can improve and maintain their people's health) (Japanese poster distributed in Asia, U.N. Day Poster #10)

A Japanese-language photo poster on disease control. A crowd, many of them children, queues in front of a church beside a tree hung with a banner for a Philippines WHO/UNICEF tuberculosis control programme, BCG vaccination team, Cebu Province. The text says millions die yearly of malaria and tuberculosis, names DDT, BCG and penicillin as remedies, and says WHO and UNICEF are working in more than twenty countries. The tell is transfer: the banner and agency names carry the claim that the world is becoming healthier.

Receiving technical assistance, countries can improve and maintain their people's health.

Every year millions of people die of malaria and tuberculosis, and whole nations grow weak. But modern chemical techniques can remove and overcome this misery. For example, one need only spray DDT against malaria, inoculate with BCG against tuberculosis, and inject penicillin against venereal disease. WHO and UNICEF together are fighting these diseases on a large scale, with success, in more than twenty underdeveloped countries. Of course the road is still long, but the world is certainly becoming healthier.
