Hanoi's Own Affirmations (Nhung loi xac nhan cua Ha Noi)
A red-banded sheet headed 'Hanoi's affirmations...' sets two quoted passages beside photographed typed documents, each with a red crayon oval around a passage. The quotes say the southern Viet Cong party and the North Vietnamese Workers' Party are 'one', and give the documents as captured in Tay Ninh in February 1961 and Thua Thien in November 1964. The tell is selective quotation: two circled excerpts stand for the whole of each document, whose authenticity and context the sheet does not show.

Những lời xác nhận của Hànội... "...Đảng Nhân Dân Cách Mạng Việt Nam (Việt Cộng Miền Nam) và Đảng Lao Động Việt Nam là một... Không có gì khác nhau giữa hai đảng." ...đây là những điều lệ mới cho Đảng Nhân Dân Cách Mạng Việt Nam mà ta thu được của bọn Việt Cộng ở Tỉnh Chương Thiện vào tháng 11-1964. "Khi cách mạng đã đạt được thắng lợi.... đảng sẽ thực hiện minh bạch để lãnh đạo cuộc cách mạng ở Miền Nam." ...đây là những chỉ thị do Ủy Ban Việt Cộng Miền Nam đưa ra, ta bắt được tại Tỉnh Tây Ninh vào tháng 2-1961. Hanoi's affirmations... "...The Vietnam People's Revolutionary Party (the Viet Cong of the South) and the Vietnam Workers' Party are one... There is nothing different between the two parties." ...these are the new statutes for the Vietnam People's Revolutionary Party which we obtained from the Viet Cong in Chuong Thien Province in November 1964. "When the revolution has achieved victory.... the party will openly carry out [its role] to lead the revolution in the South." ...these are directives issued by the Viet Cong Southern Committee, which we captured in Tay Ninh Province in February 1961. Translation is FRAME's own literal rendering. The final sentence of the second quote is rendered as printed; the verb is partly ambiguous in the Vietnamese.
