Fire away! Buy extra bonds
5th War Loan poster: two U.S. Navy lookouts in a storm, one aiming a searchlight and one with binoculars, catch a surfaced submarine marked with a cross, with the words 'Fire away!' in the beam and 'Buy extra bonds' below. The technique is transfer: a naval combat scene is tied to a purchase, with a memorial line for the U.S.S. Dorado adding emotional weight.
